Prior to these consulting assignments, Mr. Knight was the Manager of Business Intelligence and Reporting at Independence Blue Cross. During this 8 year period, he assumed responsibility for consolidating the Business Intelligence platforms onto a single system, and expanding the use of the BI methodology throughout the company. Mr. Knight adapted the principles of Agile and Spiral development methodologies in order to provide rapid turnaround for BI solutions and reports. Additional responsibilities included the installation and maintenance of the software.
Mr. Knight's career also included 25 years with Verizon (Bell Atlantic) which covered various positions and assignments. Although he was based in the IT department, his assignments and responsibilities afforded him a chance to be exposed and interact will all aspects of the business. This provided Mr. Knight with a unique perspective and relationship in understanding the business needs relative to required IT systems. As a manager for the development of software solutions, Mr. Knight used standard Waterfall, RAD, and Spiral development methodologies to develop and deliver projects for various internal clients. Additionally, as Director of Technical training at Verizon, Mr. Knight was instrumental in revamping the courses, mission, and direction of this technical training unit.
With excellent facilitating skills, Mr. Knight has taught IT-related subjects to various audiences and technical levels. Mr. Knight has taught detailed programming languages for Verizon, PC skills for high school students in conjunction with the Philadelphia Private Industry Council, adult night school for the Downingtown Area School District, adjunct instructor at Delaware County Community College, and SDLC at the graduate school level at Penn State Great Valley. These teaching positions are backed by Mr. Knight's vast and extended experience at all levels of IT.
Mr. Knight is an alumnus of Temple University and received his MBA from West Chester University. He also holds a Masters Certificate in Project Management from George Washington University.
